On the 14th March, a chosen 16 of our year attended a music trip to Limerick Institute of Technology as part of a music and film day in the college. This day was to help us with our music/IT projects that we are doing at the present time. We were given a guided tour of the college by Donnachda, where we were brought to the campus, recording studios and the student unions. We witnessed a question and answer session in one of the student hubs which was very interesting to listen to. After this question and answer session, we were brought to the college cafeteria where we spotted a couple of familiar faces. However our food was very rushed due to a music talk we were attending having started. However we were a bit lost in this talk as we didn't really understand what the lecturer was on about exactly. However I could understand some parts due to having heard some of it mentioned in our song writing workshop the day before.
When the talk was over, we visited Limerick's art college where we met a past pupil Jessica Canning. We were given a tour of the arts college which was really cool and interesting. We heard about the different careers that could be studied here and learned about the college's architecture in the gallery. After this we were brought for a drive around the University of Limerick's campus. I found this quite beneficial as we learned a bit about the different buildings on the campus that you could study in. Overall I found the day very interesting and beneficial. I learned a lot about music and production of it. It also helped us to recap on what we learned in our music workshop. |
